Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Tofu mobile application ("App") operated by Moloko Ventures s.r.o. ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Tofu is a plant-based lifestyle app that provides:

• A curated library of plant-based recipes with macros, high-protein alternatives, and allergen-sensitive variants
• A cook mode with step-by-step navigation, per-step ingredients, timers, and an always-on display
• AI-powered recipe discovery — describe what you want to cook and Tofu finds matching recipes from the catalog
• A barcode scanner that uses AI to check whether food products are plant-based, with a contextual chat to clarify ingredient questions
• A supplement tracker with reminders, streaks, and Lock Screen check-off
• A shopping list

2. Account & Access

Tofu does not require you to create an account. The app uses anonymous authentication — no email, password, or personal login is needed. Your data is stored locally on your device.

3. Free & Premium Tiers

Tofu offers a free tier and a premium subscription:

• Free: A selection of recipes, 2 supplement slots with reminders, shopping list, and collections.
• Premium (Tofu+): Unlocks all 300+ recipes, the barcode scanner, AI recipe discovery, unlimited supplement tracking, and allergen warnings.

Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you also agree to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

4. Subscriptions & Payments

• Subscriptions are available as monthly or annual plans.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
• Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Refund requests should be directed to Apple.

5. AI-Generated Content

The barcode scanner analysis and AI recipe discovery are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). While we strive for accuracy:

• AI responses are informational, not medical or nutritional advice. Do not rely on them for allergy or health decisions without consulting a qualified professional.
• Ingredient analysis is based on the data available from product databases and may not reflect the most current product formulation.
• AI responses may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies.
• Recipe nutrition information is an AI estimate and should not be used for medical dietary planning.

6. Recipe Content

Recipes in the App are created and curated by our team. You may use recipes for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Republish, redistribute, or sell recipe content from the App
• Scrape or bulk-download recipes
• Use recipe content to train AI models

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to bypass free-tier usage limits through technical means
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or services
• Use automated tools to access the App (bots, scrapers)

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, recipes, graphics, and branding, is owned by Moloko Ventures s.r.o. and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Tofu name and logo are trademarks of Moloko Ventures s.r.o.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be available at all times without interruption
• Ingredient analysis or AI responses will be error-free
• Product data from third-party databases (OpenFoodFacts) will be complete or current

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moloko Ventures s.r.o. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Health issues arising from reliance on AI-generated ingredient analysis
• Allergic reactions due to incomplete or inaccurate product data
• Loss of data stored locally on your device

11. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services (OpenFoodFacts, Anthropic, Apple, RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, Sentry). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bratislava, Slovak Republic, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
